Expired Whey

Camilla produces two types of cheese, namely fresh cheese and aged cheese. The difference is in the moisture content of the cheese, which affects its texture, whether it's soft or hard, and its shelf life or how long the cheese remains fresh. Camilla la Mozzarella doesn't use any preservatives, so we are very transparent about providing information on the expiration period for fresh cheese. For hard cheese products, we apply natural treatments to ensure they remain preserved for a longer period.

Once Camilla products reach their expiration date, they are not disposed of wastefully to prevent environmental pollution. Expired cheese is distributed to farmers, including maggot farmers, as part of Camilla's commitment to supporting Sustainable Development Goals number 12, which focuses on responsible consumption and production.
